Overall Champions Prizes
In addition to the prize monies listed above, the most successful competitor in the Open, B and C graded contests will be awarded overall championship prizes of £100, £75 and £50 respectively.
Contest Arrangements
Owing to time considerations, the overall number of ‘solo piping performance slots’ available is fairly finite. In the event of over-subscription for any of the contests, every effort will be made to accommodate all entries. If that is not possible, then acceptance of entries will be decided on the basis of date
received. If necessary, acceptance of entries on the day will be subject to ballot.
If there are insufficient entries to produce meaningful competition in any of the contests, then the Chatsworth Country Fair reserve the right to (a) cancel that contest, (b) reduce the number of prizes available for that contest and / or (c) hold one or more additional contests for competitors who have already submitted entries for that or other contests.
Competitors will be notified as soon as possible after the Closing Date via the Branch Website www.rspbalondon.bravesites.com of any changes to the contest arrangements. Any entry fees paid in respect of a contest that is cancelled will be refunded.
Entry to The Chatsworth Estate
Competitors
Professional competitors will be provided with a wristband permitting entry to the Estate on Sunday. There is no additional charge for this.
Spouses, Partners, Children etc
Sunday’ wristbands for the spouses, partners and children etc of competitors may be purchased from the Competition Secretary at the reduced price of £11 each (a discount of £14.00 on the normal price). ‘Saturday’ wristbands may also be purchased for £11 each. Children aged under 14 years enter free.
Vehicles
A car pass (displayed on windscreen) is required for entry into the Estate. A vehicle pass allows entry for the vehicle only – not the occupants who each must have a valid wristband.
There will be designated parking in the PIPE BAND COACH & CAR PARK near to the contest arena. Entry to the Pipe Band Coach and Car Park will not be permitted after 9.00 am.
The numbers of wristbands for competitors, spouses, partners etc required should be specified in the Contest Entry Form.
Further Information
Chatsworth Country Fair takes place over 3 days, and always on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday following the August Bank Holiday. Held in the park of Chatsworth House, home to the Dukes of Devonshire, the 2018 event will be the thirty-seventh Country Fair. It has become one of the largest events of its type in England, and is an essential part of the Derbyshire and Midlands calendar. Given good weather, crowds of around of 90,000 people are expected over the three days. The focus of the Show is the Grand Ring on the “big flat”, with over 300 trade stands and crafts. Around the park are over 40 showground attractions, many with a country theme.
