The Champion Piper will be the piper gaining most points in events 1, 2, 6, 7 & 11.
The Angus Nicol Award will be awarded to the piper gaining most points in events 4, 9, and 13.
Where five prizes are awarded for the event, eg, the Bratach Gorm or the Gillies, first place counts as 5 points, second place 4 points, third 3, fourth 2 and fifth 1 point.
In events with 3 prizes, eg, Mary Flora Beaton Cup, for the first place 3 points will be awarded, and so on. In the case of a tie, precedence will be given to the winner of higher prizes for piobaireachd.
Whilst it is hoped these entry criteria are clear and complete, there may be a small number of instances where an individual piper's grading and current year prizes do not align with the criteria above. In that event the committee will make a decision on which events it is appropriate for the piper to play in.
