The London competition has grown over the years to become the largest one day piping competition in the world. Competitors from all over the globe converge on the British capital city to compete for historic prizes including the prestigious Bratach Gorm (Blue Banner).

- A competitor who enters for any piping event at the London Competition should realise that by doing so he/she indicates that he/she is prepared to abide by Scottish Piping Society of London rules and accept the decisions of the adjudicators whatever the result. Competitors should make themselves familiar with, and abide by, the rules of the competition, which may vary from year to year. The SPSL Secretary should be consulted in cases of doubt.
- Competitors should report on arrival and receive their numbered badge. All Competitors must be ready to compete when called, otherwise they may be disqualified.
